SMM News on May 9:

According to SMM's communication and understanding, as of Thursday (May 8), the total zinc ingot inventory across seven locations tracked by SMM was 83,300 mt, an increase of 6,300 mt from April 30 and a decrease of 800 mt from May 6, indicating a decline in domestic inventory. Arrivals in Shanghai and Guangdong were relatively normal during the week, but due to the remaining inventory at end-users, downstream purchases and cargo pick-ups were low after the holiday, leading to a slight increase in inventory. In Tianjin, inventory declined significantly due to fewer arrivals after the holiday and a small amount of cargo pick-ups by downstream users. Overall, inventory in the original three locations decreased by 900 mt, while inventory across the seven locations decreased by 800 mt.
